Tuesday Juniors

Tuesdays 4:30 to 6:00pm

One class, split into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups on the night. A kid who has never touched a volleyball and a teenager playing school competition both get a session pitched at their level, on adjacent courts with their own coach. Classes run every week of the NSW school term; Term 4 runs 13 October to 17 December.

  • Straight after school, done by 6pm.
  • Full-height indoor competition halls, rain or shine.
  • If a class is full, the booking page has the waitlist.

We also run classes in West Ryde on Fridays and Kellyville on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

INSIDE A SESSION

WHAT A CLASS LOOKS LIKE

Warm up and ball control

Players get moving, then straight into passing and ball control work in small groups.

Skill block

A focused technical block on one skill for the week: serving, setting, hitting or defence.

03

Small games

Coached game situations in small groups, so every player touches the ball constantly.

04

Full court play

The session finishes with full court volleyball. Coaches keep coaching while they play.

Is there a kids volleyball class at Sydney Olympic Park?+
Yes. Obsidian Volleyball Academy runs a junior class at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls every Tuesday during the school term, 4:30 to 6:00pm, for ages 8 to 18. Beginners, intermediate and advanced players train in the same session, grouped by ability.
How much does it cost?+
Term enrolment is $36 a session, paid upfront for the remaining weeks of the term. A single class is $40 if you would rather try one first.
My child has never played volleyball. Can they still join?+
Yes. Players are grouped by ability on the night, so complete beginners get their own coach and drills while experienced players train at a faster pace. No experience is needed to start.
Where do we park, and can we get there by train?+
The Sports Halls are on Olympic Boulevard, with the P1 to P4 Sydney Olympic Park car parks a short walk away. By train, Olympic Park station is around ten minutes on foot. The 4:30pm start also means you are in and out before evening event traffic.
Do you run holiday programs at Olympic Park too?+
